Shoeper Shoesday | Two of Dolce Gabbana’s finest

That Dolce & Gabbana make some amazing shoes is news to absolutely no one. This season, however, they’ve really excelled themselves in the footwear department: just take a look and see…

According to Net-a-Porter, “Dolce & Gabbana’s pumps are inspired by the idea of a rebellious princess wearing her prince’s clothes.” Now, ordinarily, that kind of description would have me rolling my eyes just a little bit, but I have to admit, I kind of love this idea – and I can totally see where they’re coming from, with this particular shoe. Whether you consider yourself a “rebellious princess” or not, however, though, I think you’d have to agree that these are absolutely stunning shoes: and even if they’re not to your particular taste, it’s hard to deny the talent and workmanship that must have gone into creating them. I love bright red shoes, and wear them often, but if it’s not your thing, these also come an equally gorgeous bright blue – oh, and there’s even a lower-heeled black version, if you’re put off by the height of those heels!

Also from Dolce & Gabbana are these embellished satin sandals, which are straight from the “better from the back than they are from the front” category:

Now I come to think of it, “Better From the Back” should probably be an ACTUAL category on this blog: there’s no shortage of shoes to fill it, after all, and these days it seems the embellished heel is even more popular than the embellished toe. No complaints here: I do love a bow on the toe of a shoe, as regular readers will no doubt recall, but in some ways I think an embellished heel can be a little easier to style: it doesn’t detract any attention from your outfit, but it’s still guaranteed to catch the eye of anyone who loves shoes!
