Summer 2016: How to do wedding guest style

Wedding season has been upon us for a couple months now, and this means we have to get our looks sorted. If you are like most people out there, finding that perfect outfit as a guest can be both fun and frustrating. Being a guest is all about working your own look without outshining the lovely bride-to-be. Do you want to play it safe and classic or do you want to go trendy and be a little more daring with your style?

Regardless of the direction you choose, at the end of the day it all comes down to execution and what will make you feel comfortable all day long. This wedding season, we collaborated with Lavenda, the style blogger behind Lavenda’s Closet, to inspire us by putting together her favorite wedding guest look. Read on for her take on wedding guest style.

Perhaps the most challenging look to put together is that of guest of the wedding. We want to look stunning and chic of course, but no one wants to upstage the bride.

I’ve worked with SHOES.COM previously (see those posts here: Festival Style Guide)  to style my top picks! I have fallen more and more in love with their site because of their incredible, unbeatable prices. These Cynthia Vincent Potent Platform Sandals are listed for $40 more a pop on other sites, but SHOES.COM seems to always have the best deal along with free shipping and great customer service! Updating our summer shoe closet just became easier and more affordable.

For my Summer Wedding look, I paired together some comfortable but sexy platform sandals with this amazing Carven Dress. Carven is one of my favorite Parisian brands and  though most pieces fall out of my budget, I love that it’s so affordable to rent for for the weekend!
